At Living Ceremonies, your Nashville wedding officiant, we're dedicated to simplifying the process for you. I've gathered responses to some of the most commonly asked questions I've encountered as a wedding officiant.
ABOUT ME
How long have you been officiating weddings?
I have been officiating weddings since 2004, bringing over 25 years of experience as a chaplain and ordained minister. My passion is creating heartfelt, meaningful ceremonies that reflect each couple's love story.
What makes Living Ceremonies different from other Nashville officiants?
Living Ceremonies is a luxury wedding officiant and ceremony design service. My goal is to create story-driven wedding ceremonies for couples who want an elevated, intentional, and personal ceremony experience.
With more than 20 years of wedding officiating experience, extensive experience as an ordained minister and chaplain, and certification as a mindfulness trainer, I combine storytelling, ceremony design, emotional presence, and thoughtful preparation to create ceremonies that reflect each couple's relationship and engage their guests.
Whether you want a spiritual, religious, nonreligious, or interfaith ceremony, I tailor each experience to reflect your unique love story and values.
BOOKING, PRICES, AND PACKAGES
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 6–12 months in advance to ensure sufficient time to complete a premarital session (if applicable). However, I may have limited availability for last-minute ceremonies, so feel free to inquire.
What is included in your officiant fee?
My officiant fee includes a fully customized ceremony, premarital sessions (if applicable), a mindfulness session (if applicable), officiating on your wedding day, vow-writing assistance, vow books (if applicable), and filing your marriage license.
Do you offer different ceremony packages?
Yes! I offer three packages:

The Complete Experience: Includes premarital sessions, a customized ceremony, mindfulness techniques, marriage license filing, vow-writing assistance, and unlimited communication.

The Signature Experience: Includes a customized ceremony, mindfulness techniques, marriage license filing, and unlimited communication.

The Nashville Elopement Ceremony: Designed for couples who want a small, intimate wedding with 10 or fewer guests.
Do you officiate destination weddings?
Yes! I am available to officiate destination weddings worldwide. Travel fees apply.
How do payments work, and do you require a deposit?
A retainer fee is required to secure your wedding date, with the remaining balance due two weeks before the ceremony. We accept all major credit cards. An additional fee applies to credit card payments.
What happens after we book?
After signing the contract and paying the retainer fee, you will receive a "Welcome to Living Ceremonies" email with instructions for scheduling premarital sessions (if applicable), a love story questionnaire, contact information, and details for scheduling follow-up Zoom meetings.

LEGAL AND MARRIAGE LICENSE PROCESS
Are you legally authorized to officiate our wedding?
Yes! I am ordained through my denomination to officiate weddings. If you are planning a wedding outside the state of Tennessee, I will ensure that all legal requirements are met.
Do you handle the marriage license after the ceremony?
Yes! You'll need to obtain your marriage license from the County Clerk's office within 30 days before your wedding. After the ceremony, I'll sign it and ensure it's properly filed with the Clerk's office.
CEREMONY PROCESS
Do you attend rehearsals?
I attend rehearsal upon requested.
How long does a typical ceremony last?
Most ceremonies last between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the elements you choose to include.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes! I encourage personalized vows and even offer vow-writing coaching to help you express your love beautifully.
Will you coordinate with our wedding planner and vendors?
Absolutely! I believe in seamless collaboration and will work closely with your planner, photographer, and venue to ensure every aspect of your ceremony is flawless.
What happens if you have an emergency on our wedding day?
In the unlikely event that I am unable to officiate, I have a network of trusted officiants I can call upon to ensure your ceremony goes on as planned.
